Terence E. Burns, CFA is the President and Founder of Campion Asset Management and has overall responsibility for establishing investment policy, setting capital market return expectations, making strategic asset allocation recommendations, security selection, and firm compliance.
With 20 years of investment analysis and portfolio management experience, Terence has served a wide range of individuals and tax-exempt organizations. Prior to founding Campion, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank and was responsible for managing $680 million in financial assets. Other former affiliations include Riggs & Co. and the Association for Investment Management & Research.
As an active volunteer in the investment community, Terence has served as President of the CFA Society of Washington and as a President’s Council Representative for the CFA Institute. He also was a contributing author on the third edition of Managing Investment Portfolios, A Dynamic Process (CFA Institute April 2007). Terence currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Wealth Management, the CFA Institute Standards of Practice Committee, and the finance committee of The Children’s Inn at NIH.
Terence also contributes to the community through teaching. He has served as an adjunct professor at both the Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business and the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.
Terence is a Chartered Financial Analyst, holds a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland. He grew up in Potomac, Maryland and attended Saint Anselm’s Abbey School. In his spare time, Terence enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing and gardening.
